You've Got a Friend

The young man in the photo resides at an alternative high school for youngsters that have been classified as abused, neglected, abandoned or anti-social. This puppy will be specially trained by him to be a service dog and will eventually be given to a person with psychological and/or physical disabilities (such as autism, PTSD and agoraphobia). Many of the dogs in the program go to injured soldiers. They will develop a very close relationship over the two year training period. The young man will learn lessons in patience, responsibility and dedication and receive a sense of accomplishment for making the dream of independence come true for someone he has never met.
